Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, with reference to paragraph 4.51 of the Autumn Budget 2017, what assessment his Department has made of the effect of the Government’s plans for no new low-carbon electricity levies until 2025 on its plans to extend the Energy Company Obligation set out in the Clean Growth Strategy.

The Energy Company Obligation is not a low-carbon electricity levy and, therefore, is unaffected by paragraph 4.51 of the Budget.
