Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the Answer of 13 September 2017 to Question 8860, whether her Department has discussed with the Australian Government the operation of e-passport gates in that country for nationals of designated countries.

We engage regularly with our international partners to share ideas and learn from their approaches to border control. However the Australian Government is responsible for the policies relating to the usage of their e-passport gates, just as the UK determines the policies for our own e-passport gates.
