Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what procedures exist to determine whether a person is a British citizen if their citizenship is challenged or questioned.
A person will usually be able to demonstrate they are a British citizen through presentation of a British passport or certificate of entitlement to the right of abode.
When any question arises as to whether a person is a British citizen or not, the person seeking to establish a claim, must obtain the necessary information or documents themselves.
