Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what support his Department is giving to promote further negotiations between NICE, NHS England and the drug manufacturer Vertex on access to Orkambi for people with cystic fibrosis.

It is for Vertex, NHS England and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence to enter into negotiations on this matter and we are pleased to note that discussions are on-going to explore possible options for making Orkambi available to National Health Service patients.
