Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many people were detained by the Border Force in the latest period for which figures are available; what information her Department holds about those who have been so detained; and if she will make a statement.

We publish quarterly information regarding immigration detention that includes those detained by Border Force. It shows the number of people that have been detained solely under Immigration Act powers.

The latest tables dt_04 and dt_04_q in ‘Immigration Statistics, May to June 2017’, are available from the Home Office website at:

All individuals entering immigration detention are risk assessed and accommodated under the processes set out in Detention Services Order 03/2016.
