The United Kingdom has one of the most comprehensive immunisation programmes in the world and vaccines coverage for most programmes is generally high. Though we do not yet have the verified coverage data to demonstrate the full impact of the pandemic on vaccination rates, vaccine uptake across the UK remains high.

NHS England and NHS Improvement are working closely with Public Health England and the Department to drive improvements in immunisation uptake and coverage in all routine childhood immunisations. The Department intends to publish a vaccination strategy in the near future to maintain and develop the UK’s immunisation programme.
