Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether the position of Zambrano carers after the UK leaves the EU is being discussed in the negotiations on the UK leaving the EU.

As set out in the personal scope section of the table, the focus of the citizens’ rights negotiations is on those currently resident in the UK under the Free Movement Directive and Article 21 of the Treaty of the Functioning of the European Union. Further proposals, relating to those who derive a right of residence from other instruments of European Union (EU) law, will be set out in due course.
