Police: Emergency Calls

Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if she will make an assessment of the (a) effectiveness and (b) extent of use of (i) 101 and (ii) 999 call transference between call-handling centres in different police service areas as part of overflow procedures.

The handling of 999 and 101 calls is an operational matter for the police. The Home Office does not collect information on call transference.
