Withdraw the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill immediately - 23,302 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 25,465 - 35 added in the past 24hrs)

Government to withdraw the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill immediately, because it downgrades education for all children, undermines educators and parents. We think it will cause harm to children, with their details being digitally stored for anyone to use without permission.

Protect the Right to Live Without a Digital ID - 15,282 Signatures

I want a legal safeguard in all digital-ID laws that guarantees no one can be denied work, healthcare, banking, housing, or any other service for not having a government digital ID. Use must remain voluntary, and non-digital alternatives must always be available to prevent exclusion or pressure..

The Government responsed to this petition on 17th March 2026 (View Full Response)
The Government is introducing a Digital ID system and will legislate for it to be voluntary, and free to access for anyone who wants it. The Government is consulting on the design of that scheme.

Introduce a Pension Tax Lock to help protect retirement savings and incentives - 23,254 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 23,290 - 5 added in the past 24hrs)

The Chancellor should introduce a Pension Tax Lock: a commitment not to reduce the amount people can withdraw from their pension tax-free or the amount of tax relief given on pension contributions. We believe this would help ensure retirement savings are protected and people can save with confidence

The Government responsed to this petition on 10th December 2025 (View Full Response)
The Government is committed to ensuring pensioners have security in retirement and has launched a Pensions Commission to look at what is required to ensure the system is strong, fair and sustainable.

In March 2024, the previous Government said it would make scanning, checking & reuniting lost & abducted pets more effective by introducing a central portal for approved users-vets, local authorities & police-to search all records instantly, instead of contacting databases individually.

Introduce an independent appeals panel for school absences - 15,392 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 18,380 - 58 added in the past 24hrs)

As it stands, the decision whether a school absence is authorised or not lies solely with the headteacher or designated attendance officer. If this person deems the absence as not "exceptional" enough, or marks an illness absence as unauthorised, there is no formal right of appeal for parents.

The Government responsed to this petition on 11th March 2026 (View Full Response)
The Government has no plans to introduce an independent national appeals panel for school absences and believes there are already sufficient routes for parents to challenge inaccurate absence coding.
