Review decision to cede sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius - 16,802 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 17,613 - 29 added in the past 24hrs)

The United Kingdom has agreed for Mauritius to have sovereignty over the Chagos Archipelago. I think this is strategically dangerous, and should be reviewed.

The Government responsed to this petition on 13th February 2025 (View Full Response)
We achieved our primary objective in negotiations with Mauritius: to protect the future of the UK-US military base on Diego Garcia. The treaty will be put before Parliament for scrutiny and debate.

Promote plant-based foods over meat and dairy for a healthier Britain - 14,853 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 17,589 - 24 added in the past 24hrs)

To help protect planetary and human health, the Government must promote plant-based foods like fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, and legumes, and end any support for campaigns promoting meat and dairy. We believe the UK needs to eat less, not more, of these foods.

An independent evaluation of the Cass review on child gender services - 17,322 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 17,353 - 4 added in the past 24hrs)

We believe that trans healthcare should be based on unbiased research that is peer reviewed. We think that the Cass review's findings have led to restrictive practices that are being directly felt by transgender children.

The Government responsed to this petition on 14th January 2025 (View Full Response)
The Government and NHS England are fully committed to implementing all recommendations from the independent and evidence based Cass Review. We do not support an independent evaluation of the Review.

Reverse Cadet Forces Funding Cuts by Min of Defence and the Dept of Education. - 17,050 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 17,076 - 4 added in the past 24hrs)

The govt have recently halved funding to State School Cadet units and Cadet Force Adult Volunteer Allowances. This is leading to reductions in activities and we think having a highly destructive impact on young people across the UK. We think this particularly impacts those from poorest backgrounds.

The Government responsed to this petition on 23rd January 2025 (View Full Response)
Resource constraints have impacted across all areas of Education and Defence including support to Cadet activity. Cadet funding is kept under review and must be balanced against other priorities.

Prohibit publishers irrevocably disabling video games they have already sold - 15,788 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 17,047 - 30 added in the past 24hrs)

The government should update consumer law to prohibit publishers from disabling video games (and related game assets / features) they have already sold without recourse for customers to retain or repair them. We seek this as a statutory consumer right.

The Government responsed to this petition on 3rd February 2025 (View Full Response)
There are no plans to amend UK consumer law on disabling video games. Those selling games must comply with existing requirements in consumer law and we will continue to monitor this issue.

(Estimated Final Signatures: 16,679 - 92 added in the past 24hrs)

We think the chalk stream recovery pack would increase investment, regulation and transparency; improving the state of all rivers. We feel Chalk streams’ rarity, cultural and ecological importance should make them a priority for conservation, sustainable water management and restoration initiatives.
