I rise to present a petition on behalf of more than 1,500 residents of my constituency of Selly Oak, including a great many parents who live in Druids Heath, protesting at the threat and closure of their only secondary school, Baverstock Academy. Whatever the problems at Baverstock, they are not the fault of the pupils or the parents, and they should not be punished for the failings of others by losing their only secondary school.

The petition states:

The Petition of residents of Birmingham Selly Oak constituency,

Declares that Baverstock Academy should not be closed.

The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urges the Government to take action to save Baverstock Academy.
