Written Question
Antisemitism
Monday 19th October 2026

Asked by: Rebecca Harris (Conservative - Castle Point)

Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to the written statement of 14 July 2026, HCWS246, on National Policing Response to Antisemitism, (a) what share of funding will be allocated to Essex; (b) when this funding will be released; and (c) whether this funding is ringfenced to ensure it is solely available to support Police to tackle antisemitism.

Answered by Sarah Jones - Minister of State (Home Office)

The Government is providing a £251.1 million package to support policing’s response to antisemitism.

Essex will receive £5.64 million of this funding over a three-year period.

The dedicated £152 million funding to nine forces is intended to increase a recognisable and visible policing and police presence in Jewish communities. The National Police Chiefs Council is coordinating a national policing response to tackle antisemitism and will oversee funding to police forces alongside the Home Office.

To support implementation, forces were asked to submit delivery plans, setting out how the funding will be used. Funding will be released to forces according to an agreed schedule and be based on the evidence provided setting out how the aims of the funding package are being met.
