Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, if her Department will take steps to support snooker clubs.

I congratulate Kyren Wilson on his recent success at the Snooker World Championships. I recognise the important role snooker clubs play in many communities across the country.

The Government’s Arm’s Length Body for grassroots sport, Sport England, receives £323 million in Exchequer and Lottery funding each year. Since 2019, they have invested over £107,000 to projects which facilitate participation in Kettering.

Sport England provides support for grassroots sport through the newly established Movement Fund, which offers crowdfunding pledges, grants and resources to improve physical activity opportunities for the people and communities who need it the most.

Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, what steps her Department is taking to deliver full-fibre and gigabit-capable broadband by 2025 in (a) Kettering constituency, (b) north Northamptonshire and (c) England.

Answered by Julia Lopez

88 percent of premises in the Kettering constituency and 83 percent of premises in North Northamptonshire are able to access gigabit-capable broadband.

The Government has now launched market engagement exercises in all Project Gigabit intervention areas in England and are making excellent progress on our Project Gigabit procurements covering premises in Kettering and North Northamptonshire, with contracts expected to be awarded next year.

More immediate support for premises in rural areas is also available through the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme.
