Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if she will request that the National Crime Agency undertakes an investigation into the (a) laundering of funds from Bangladesh into the United Kingdom and (b) role of the Awami League.
Answered by Dan Jarvis - Minister of State (Cabinet Office)
The UK is committed to fighting corruption and illicit finance both domestically and internationally. As with all cases, it is for independent law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to determine whether to undertake investigations
The National Crime Agency is part of the UK's effort to support Bangladesh in tackling corruption as well as wider law enforcement issues. As a matter of policy, we do not routinely confirm or deny NCA investigations.

Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to page 6 of the policy paper entitled Plan for Change: Milestones for mission-led government, published on 5 December 2024, CP1210, how many and what proportion of the additional police officers will be (a) full-time police constables, (b) full-time detective constables, (c) PCSOs and (d) special constables.
Answered by Diana Johnson - Minister of State (Department for Work and Pensions)
The Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee will be supported by the commitment to deliver an additional 13,000 additional police officers, PCSOs and special constables in neighbourhood policing roles. There will be funding of £100 million to kickstart delivery, as announced by the Prime Minister in December 2024.
We will work with police forces on the mix of roles which will make up those 13,000 additional personnel, will vary from force to force, depending on their needs and existing staffing.

Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to the policy paper entitled Plan for Change, published on 5 December 2024, CP1210, how she plans to measure progress towards her target for safer town centres; and what her target is for reducing levels of (a) anti-social behaviour, (b) shoplifting and (c) other specific crimes.
Answered by Diana Johnson - Minister of State (Department for Work and Pensions)
We are currently in the process of devising a new performance framework for neighbourhood policing to improve standards and performance across the country. We are engaging with police forces, the College of Policing and National Police Chiefs’ Council to agree the content of the performance framework, including assessing which measures are available nationally and at the local level.
The Guarantee and associated performance framework will ensure everyone, regardless of where they live, receives strengthened and more consistent neighbourhood policing.
