Question to the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero:
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, if she will take steps to strengthen the Climate Change Act 2008 in the context of the heat waves of summer 2026.
Answered by Miatta Fahnbulleh - Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero
We should be incredibly proud of this Government's record on climate change. The Climate Change Act is world leading legislation which puts us on a path to achieving net zero. And this summer’s heatwaves and wildfires have only confirmed what some of us already knew. That the impacts of climate change are here and we must be bullish in our resolve to tackle them. Denial is not an option, and it will not protect the communities we love.
