Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what recent discussions she has had with Cabinet colleagues on steps to prevent protestors from disrupting sporting events.
Answered by Stuart Andrew - Opposition Chief Whip (Commons)
Recent disruption of sporting and cultural events is totally unacceptable, and the Government has taken steps to empower the police to ensure the smooth running of major events.
I recently attended a roundtable with cabinet colleagues, police and sports representatives to ensure major sporting events this summer are protected from disruption, and we will continue to work with event organisers and police to protect the uninterrupted enjoyment of major sporting and cultural events.

The Anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower is a wonderful opportunity to reignite the interest that American citizens have in our nations' shared history.
Plymouth City Council are leading the commemorations for this anniversary - representing the beginning of one of the most enduring alliances in the world. The Government has made over £500,000 available to support the Council's ambition for this celebration to be a year of both national and international significance for the city.

Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what representations he has received on funding for culture in the East Midlands.
Answered by Lord Vaizey of Didcot
The Arts Council’s announcements on their 2015-2018 portfolio continue a trend in the reduction of the share of funding that is going to organisations in London, and includes investment in retaining talent and boosting production capacity outside of London. This includes the East Midlands which I will be visiting later this month.
