Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how much the evacuation of Nowzad cost the Government in expenditure of time and money.
Answered by James Heappey
The Secretary of State for Defence was clear that the Ministry of Defence did not evacuate Nowzad. No costs were incurred in the limited support provided to Nowzad to secure the required permissions for the charter aircraft to land, and enable safe passage through the airport.

Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what (a) financial and (b) other support his Department provides to the Sea Cadets.
Answered by Tobias Ellwood
The Government and the Royal Navy support the Sea Cadets financially through a Grant in Aid payment. This is currently £10.5 million for this financial year and is paid to the Marine Society and Sea Cadets and through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This MOU sets out the further support with regards to the provision of personnel, accommodation, training and the related facilities on the Ministry of Defence estate.
