Responsibility for migration and borders policy remains with the Home Office. Issues relating to migration have impacts across Government and we work with other departments, including with the Cabinet Office, to consider them.

The videographers are part of the HO social media team and video production is their primary responsibility as part of this team.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many photographers and video producers were employed by her Department in (a) 2019, (b) 2020 and (c) 2021.

No photographers were employed during this period.

Three people have been employed as videographers over the course of the period 2019-2021, including one contractor: 2019 (1), 2020 (1), 2021 (3, with two employed at one time).

They have worked in the department's social media team within the Communications Directorate.

The number and proportion of staff employed in the Home Office as apprentices are in the attached table.

In addition to the figure recorded we have around 170 more apprentices currently going through pre-employment checks who, subject to successful completion, will be in post by the end of the financial year.
