Secretary Heidi Alexander, supported by the Prime Minister, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Secretary Louise Haigh, Secretary Shabana Mahmood, Secretary Jonathan Reynolds, Secretary Angela Eagle and Justin Madders, presented a Bill to make provision for licences authorising the charging of tolls in return for securing works on trunk roads in England; about the functions of holders of licences; about enforcement; for a special administration regime for holders of licences; about the collection and enforcement of tolls charged under other Acts; and for connected purposes.
Bill read the First time; to be read a Second time tomorrow, and to be printed (Bill 145) with explanatory notes (Bill 145-EN).

Gideon Amos presented a Bill to establish a target for the annual provision of 150,000 new social homes in England; to require the Secretary of State to report to Parliament on progress in meeting that target; to provide local authorities with further powers relating to social housing, affordable housing, and the right to buy, including to end the right to buy; to make provision for a scheme enabling social housing tenants to acquire equity in their home by virtue of paying rent for that home; to make further provision consequential on that scheme; and for connected purposes.
