Voting by Proxy (serious long-term illness or injury extension)
Ordered,
That the following amendment to Standing Order No. 39A (Voting by proxy) made by the Order of 23 October 2024 (Voting by Proxy (Serious long-term illness or injury))—
“In paragraph (2), insert “(d) serious long-term illness or injury;”
shall continue to have effect for the remainder of this Parliament.—(Sir Alan Campbell.)

That,
(1) Standing Order No. 145 (Liaison Committee) be amended by deleting paragraph (3).
(2) Standing Order No. 152J (Backbench Business Committee) be amended by inserting the following new paragraph:
“( ) The committee shall report its recommendations as to the allocation of time for consideration by the House of the estimates on any day or half day which may be allotted for that purpose; and upon a motion being made that the House do agree with any such report the question shall be put forthwith and, if that question is agreed to, the recommendations shall have effect as if they were orders of the House:
Proceedings in pursuance of this paragraph, though opposed, may be decided after the expiration of the time for opposed business.”
(3) Standing Order No. 54 (Consideration of estimates) be amended as follows:
(a) in paragraph (1), replace “paragraph (3) of Standing Order No. 145 (Liaison Committee)” with “paragraph ( ) of Standing Order No. 152J (Backbench Business Committee)”
(b) in paragraphs (2) and (3), replace the words “Liaison Committee” wherever they occur with “Backbench Business Committee”
(4) Standing Order No. 14 (Arrangement of public business) be amended by inserting, after paragraph (5), the following paragraph:
“( ) Any day or half day which may be allotted for consideration by the House of estimates on a recommendation from the Backbench Business Committee under paragraph (x) of Standing Order No. 152J shall not be treated as a day or half day allotted under paragraph (4) above.”—(Sir Alan Campbell.)
