That this House regrets that the Statement of changes in Immigration Rules (HC 590), laid before the House on 14 March, will increase the minimum income requirement for family visas from £18,600 to £29,000, with the intention thereafter to increase it to £38,700 in 2025, without consultation or clarity as to the policy objective and at odds with the Government’s commitment to family life; and calls on His Majesty’s Government to reverse the increase to £29,000 and to commit not to increase the minimum income requirement in 2025.
