These Regulations provide that members of the Civil Nuclear Constabulary are persons of a specified description, and therefore law enforcement officers, for the purposes of Chapters 5 and 6 of Part 4 of the Policing and Crime Act 2017 (c. 3). This enables the Civil Nuclear Constabulary to exercise the maritime enforcement powers given to law enforcement officers by Chapters 5 and 6 of Part 4 of that Act.
Maritime Enforcement Powers (Specification of the Royal Navy Police) Regulations 2020

These Regulations provide that members of the Royal Navy Police are persons of a specified description, and are therefore law enforcement officers, for the purposes of section 84(3)(g) of the Policing and Crime Act 2017 (c.3). This enables Royal Navy Police to exercise the maritime enforcement powers given to law enforcement officers in Chapter 5 of Part 4 of that Act.

These Regulations amend the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020 (S.I. 2020/4) (“the Conduct Regulations”) and come into force immediately after the coming into force of those Regulations on 1st February 2020. Regulation 24 of the Conduct Regulations sets out the cases which the Director General of the Independent Office for Police Conduct can present in a misconduct hearing or an accelerated misconduct hearing. The amendment in regulation 2 of these Regulations enables the Director General to present a case where the Director General has given a direction to the appropriate authority under paragraph 27(4) of Schedule 3 to the Police Reform Act 2002 (c. 30) to give effect to the Director General’s recommendation under paragraph 25(4C) of that Schedule to bring misconduct proceedings of a form specified.
Police (Complaints and Misconduct) Regulations 2020

These Regulations make provision regarding the handling, including the investigation, of complaints about, and related matters concerning, the police. They revoke and replace the Police (Complaints and Misconduct) Regulations 2012 (S.I. 2012/1204) and various instruments which amend or modify those Regulations. This is in part to reflect changes to the provisions of the Police Reform Act 2002 (2002 c. 30) (“the 2002 Act”) concerning the handling of complaints, conduct matters and death and serious injury matters (“DSI matters”) made by Part 2 of the Policing and Crime Act 2017 (2017 c. 3).

These Regulations revoke and replace the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2012 (S.I. 2012/2632) (“the 2012 Regulations”), with a number of changes, in part to reflect changes made to the handling of police complaints and police disciplinary matters made by the Policing and Crime Act 2017 (2017 c. 3). These Regulations deal with internal conduct matters brought to the attention of the police otherwise than under Schedule 3 to the Police Reform Act 2002 (2002 c. 30) (“the 2002 Act”). They operate alongside the Police (Complaints and Misconduct) Regulations 2020 (S.I. 2020/2) which deal with public complaints and other discipline related matters arising under Schedule 3 to the 2002 Act.
London Government (London Fire Commissioner and Policing) (Amendment) Regulations 2018

These Regulations make various amendments consequential on the Policing and Crime Act 2017 (c. 3) (“PCA 2017”) and on the commencement of the provisions in chapter 3 of that Act establishing the London Fire Commissioner.

This Order makes provision related to the creation of a fire and rescue authority by an order made under section 4A of the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004 (c. 21) (“the 2004 Act”). Where a fire and rescue authority is created under section 4A of the 2004 Act the person who is for the time being the police and crime commissioner for the police area that corresponds with the area of the authority created is for the time being to be that fire and rescue authority.
