Form a Royal Commission to determine how best to deliver health and care for all

Task a Royal Commission to develop a more efficient, effective, holistic health and social care system. As demand rises, we believe the complexity of the issues cannot be addressed in one Government. A Royal Commission could develop a more sustainable model for all.

Health and social care are the largest UK taxpayer cost (£176.2b, 14.8% in 2023-24) but there is significant wasted money (procurement, temp staffing, health tourism). The NHS and adult social care employ around 2.8m people but pay, recruitment and retention rates are poor. In key measures (Cancer, Obesity, Chronic disease) the UK performs relatively poorly compared to other countries. Patient complaints continue to trend upwards. We believe the increasing median age makes the current healthcare model unsustainable.
