The Government should consider a UK ban on oil imports from Nigeria, pending a full review of reported human rights abuses, so that there is no risk of revenue from UK imports being used to finance activities which breach human rights, and of the sustainability of the oil industry.

The Government should consider a full ban on oil exports from Nigeria until full reviews of reported human rights abuses and sustainability of the oil industry has been completed.

An urgent targeted response is required.
