(Estimated Final Signatures: 29,098 - 127 added in the past 24hrs)

We think the Government should put up the personal tax allowance to £15,000. This could help people on a low wage and help with the increase in the cost of living.

Exempt all state pensions and benefits from income tax - 19,812 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 24,864 - 234 added in the past 24hrs)

We believe that pensions and benefits are very low and therefore should NOT be taxable. We think this is pushing people even deeper into poverty.

(Estimated Final Signatures: 17,057 - 183 added in the past 24hrs)

Reduce Vehicle Tax for cars aged between 20 and 40 years old - 12,800 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 15,252 - 26 added in the past 24hrs)

Under the current rules a car does not become exempt from Vehicle Tax until it is at least 40 years old. There are vehicles within the 20 to 40 year age bracket that are well loved, modern classics and without a reduction in tax, we may see these vehicles disappear from our roads.

The Government responsed to this petition on 4th April 2024 (View Full Response)
The Government has no plans to reduce the tax exemption age for classic cars from 40 to 20 years. While the Government keeps all taxes under review, we consider 40 years a fair cut-off date.

(Estimated Final Signatures: 2,515 - 3 added in the past 24hrs)

Reduce VAT to 5% on public EV charging - 653 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 680 - 2 added in the past 24hrs)

Public EV charging carries a VAT rate of 20%. The UK Government are trying to reach net zero and I believe one way to help achieve this would be to reduce the VAT to 5% on public EV charging.

Reduce VAT on LPG road fuel to 5% - 136 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 455 - 5 added in the past 24hrs)

We want the Government to reduce VAT on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) road fuel to 5%. Many UK vehicle owners have converted their engines to run LPG and this gaseous LPG fuel is more environmentally friendly than petrol or diesel.

Increase Statutory Maternity Pay to 9 months at full pay - 303 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 372 - 2 added in the past 24hrs)

We want the Government to increase the rate of Statutory Maternity Pay to 9 months at full pay. When on maternity leave, my rent and bills don’t change, and food costs and essentials don't change, so pay for mothers shouldn't change either.
