Birds of Prey: Conservation

(asked on 6th June 2018) - View Source

Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask Her Majesty's Government how many successful prosecutions have been made for raptor persecution in each of the last five years.

This question was answered on 20th June 2018

The Ministry of Justice data does not distinguish raptors from other birds and, as such, this information can only be obtained at disproportionate cost.

The number of convictions under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 for offences in relation to birds, their nests and eggs in each of the last five years are as follows:

2013: 15

2014: 12

2015: 18

2016: 12

2017: 14
