Information regarding the number of local authorities that run voluntary registration schemes for children educated at home is not held centrally.

We are aware that some local authorities, such as Birmingham, offer online guidance to home educators.

However, in the consultation and call for evidence, published on 10 April, the department is seeking information on existing registration schemes. The government response document, which will be published after the close of consultation, will include information on responses received.
