Afghanistan: Women

Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask His Majesty's Government whether they are engaging the International Criminal Court (ICC) in relation to the situation of women and girls in Afghanistan; and what representations they have made to the ICC since its decision to authorise its prosecutor to commence an investigation in relation to Afghanistan.

Whilst we welcome the International Criminal Court (ICC) investigation, the UK respects the independence of the ICC and the office of the Prosecutor and does not attempt to influence its deliberations and decision-making on open investigations.
