Question to the Department for Exiting the European Union :

To ask Her Majesty’s Government, in the light of the UK's exit from the EU, whether the UK will leave the European Medicines Agency; and if so, when the Agency will be relocated away from the UK.

This question was answered on 8th February 2017

As part of the exit negotiations the Government will discuss with the EU and Member States how best to continue cooperation in the field of medicines regulation in the best interests of both the UK and the EU.

No decisions have been taken on the future location of the European Medicines Agency. Until we have left the EU, the UK remains a member of the EU with all the rights and obligations that membership entails. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency continues to play its full role in all procedures of the EU medicines and devices network as well as other networks.
