Question to the Cabinet Office:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the procedures being followed by civil servants in Scotland for maintaining records of meetings with ministers which may be subject to freedom of information requests.
All UK Government civil servants are expected to adhere to the principles set out in the Civil Service Code. Civil servants working for the Scottish and Welsh Governments, and their agencies, have their own versions of the code. As stated in the Civil Service Code all UK officials are required to 'keep accurate official records and handle information as openly as possible within the legal framework'.
