Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what plans they have to introduce a new NHS dental contract focused on prevention, as recommended by the Royal College of Surgeon's Faculty of Dental Surgery's report The state of children's oral health in England, published in August.

This question was answered on 4th November 2019

The Government is committed to reforming the current National Health Service dental contract to focus on preventing, as well as treating, dental disease.

We are currently testing this new approach in 101 dental practices, known as dental prototype practices, across the country. No decisions have yet been made on wider national roll out.
