Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what plans they have to reduce the number of seats in the House of Commons ahead of the 2020 general election.

This question was answered on 16th June 2015

The Government remains committed to equalising the size of constituencies in order to make votes of more equal value. The Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies (PVSC) Act 2011 provides for the number of UK constituencies to be reduced from 650 to 600 through a boundary review which must report before the 1 October 2018.
