Agriculture: Productivity

Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they will commit to continuing public investment in supporting growth in farm productivity and resilience after the UK has left the EU.

This question was answered on 19th September 2017

It is our priority to enable an innovative, productive and competitive food supply chain from farm to fork, which invests in people and skills. The government has already committed to provide the same cash total in funds for farm support until the end of the parliament. The Agriculture Bill will ensure that after we leave the EU we have an effective system in place to support UK farmers and protect our natural environment for future generations. We will listen to everyone who has an interest in the future of the industry as we prepare new approaches to support our farmers to grow and sell more world-class food.
