Question to the Department for Education:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what funding they plan to allocate for (1) relationships and sex education, and (2) relationships education in schools.

We want all schools to deliver high quality teaching in this important area of the curriculum and many already do so. Our public consultation closed on 7 November 2018. We will use those findings to develop the right school support package to complement the content set out in the draft guidance.

We expect to lay the regulations in spring 2019. We will publish the government’s response to the consultation and place a copy of the guidance in both Houses when the regulations are laid.
