Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the availability of work placements in the health and social care sector; and what steps they are taking to increase that availability.

The Government has not made a specific assessment of the availability of work placements in the health and social care sector. Health Education England (HEE) support several work experience initiatives, for example the establishment of a National Work Experience network and commissioning career taster days. HEE have set up a group to review past work and will be working over the coming months to establish how HEE will support work experience across the country on a longer-term basis.
