Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

Her Majesty's Government what measures they intend to introduce in the light of the closure of Wideawake airfield on Ascension Island for RAF flights to assist residents of St Helena employed in work supporting the British military presence on the Falklands to travel between their home and place of work.

We are aware of the issue for St Helena residents on the Falklands travelling to St Helena, following the rerouting of the Airbridge. The Ministry of Defence, which provides the airbridge from the UK to the Falklands, is working to find a solution.
