Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask Her Majesty's Government how many social housing tower blocks that have failed Building Research Establishment tests have had their cladding fully removed, or rectified.

This question was answered on 19th September 2018

121 buildings have started the process of remediation, and of these freeholders have reported that 14 buildings have finished remediation – including receiving sign-off from building control where necessary. Government is fully funding the removal and replacement of unsafe aluminium composite material cladding on residential social housing buildings over 18 metres owned by councils and housing associations, with costs estimated at £400 million. The latest remediation figures are found in the Building Safety Programme’s monthly data release: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/building-safety-programme-monthly-data-release-august-2018.
