Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what role Border Force officers have in the monitoring of crew involved in offshore employment; and whether that role includes the monitoring of employment rights.
Border Force is responsible for ensuring any individual seeking entry to the United Kingdom, at the border, for the purposes of offshore employment has the right to do so, as well as hold any relevant entry clearance, should it be required.
The Government provides guidance and codes of practice to help employers prevent illegal working, as well as similar guidance specific to offshore working.
