NHS England has recently worked to understand, assess and provide information on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patients with sickle cell disease. We recently published the UK Rare Diseases Framework, outlining our priorities to improve the lives of those living with rare conditions, including sickle cell disease. One of these priorities is improving access to specialist care, treatment and drugs.
