Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to the Answer of 17 July 2020 to Question 71791 on Environment Protection: Coronavirus, what progress has been made in allocating the £1 billion of further support for ultra-low emission vehicles.
At the Budget in March, the government allocated £403 million to extend the Plug-in Car Grant out until 2022-23. £129.5 million was provided to extend the Plug-in Grants for vans, taxis and motorcycles to 2022-23.
The government also earmarked £500 million over the next five years to support the rollout of a rapid-charging network for electric vehicles, ensuring that drivers will never be further than 30 miles from a rapid charging station. To target spending from this fund effectively, the Office for Low Emission Vehicles are currently undertaking a comprehensive review of electric vehicle charging infrastructure
