Government departments work very closely on reducing childhood obesity and share responsibility for delivering the measures set out in the childhood obesity plan and new obesity strategy ‘Tackling obesity: empowering adults and children to live healthier lives’.

Actions being taken forward in collaboration between the Department of Health and Social Care and Department for Education include promoting physical activity and making food healthier in schools to help achieve our ambition to halve childhood obesity by 2030.
