Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what discussions he has had with Trading Standards Scotland on tackling counterfeit electrical goods being imported into Scotland.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has not held discussions with Trading Standards Scotland on tackling counterfeit electrical goods being imported into Scotland.

The Intellectual Property Office has recently provided funding to support training courses for 70 Trading Standards officers in Scotland and works closely with the Scottish Anti-Illicit Trade Group to reduce the importation and sale of counterfeit goods including electrical items.
