Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what the Government has learned from the implementation of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003; and whether such lessons will influence the future shape of mental health legislation in England and Wales.

The Queen’s Speech confirmed the Government’s intention to reform mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act. Details will be published in due course.
