Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, if she will commission a nationwide study to report on the prevalence of girls missing school because they cannot afford to buy sanitary protection; and if she will make a statement.

We are aware of recent media reports and the government will look carefully at this issue. Schools have discretion over how they use their funding and if they wish to make these products available they are free to do so.
