All schools are encouraged to start teaching the new subjects of Relationship Education (primary), Relationships and Sex Education (secondary), and Health Education (primary and secondary state-funded schools) from this academic year.

By 30 June 2019, over 1,600 schools had registered their interest in becoming early adopters of the new compulsory subjects. We are hosting 4 regional conferences in October and November 2019 for these schools. The key aim of the conferences is to ensure that schools are on track to deliver high-quality teaching, with a focus on knowledge-rich curriculum planning.
