Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many passports have been lost in the post in each of the last six years.

The table below shows the number of passports lost by Her Majesty’s Passport Office (HM Passport Office) delivery partner DX from January 2011 until September 2016. The data for the period from September 2016 onwards is currently being verified and therefore is unavailable.

HM Passport Office records and cancels any passport lost through delivery, and the customer is issued with a new passport at no extra cost.

This is Management Information and subject to change. These statistics have been taken from a live operational database. As such, the numbers may change as information on that system is updated.
