The Foreign Secretary, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Mr Johnson), travelled to the US on 8-9 January where he held constructive discussions with the then President elect Trump’s closest advisers and with Congressional leaders. We look forward to building ties with the US to safeguard the security and prosperity of our nations in the years ahead. The Foreign Secretary will meet his counterparts at the earliest opportunity once the Secretary of State has been appointed.
