Applicants who disclose they are victims of domestic violence or abuse are exempt from the £20 application fee charged by the Child Maintenance Service.

Charges on the Collect and Pay service were introduced to encourage parents to collaborate on maintenance arrangements where possible. There are no exemptions from these collection charges. The Direct Pay service, a safe option that need not involve contact between the paying parent and receiving parent, has no charges.
