National Insurance Contributions: Self-employed

Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to his oral contribution of 18 July 2017, on income tax and national insurance, what plans he has to change national insurance for self-employed people.

Self-employed people currently pay two types of National Insurance contributions (NICs): Class 2 and Class 4. The government has no current plans to change NICs beyond those already announced.
