The Government recognises the critical arrangements for energy in Northern Ireland. EU exit will not change the importance of either the trade which takes place in the Single Electricity Market on the island of Ireland, or the arrangements for the importation of gas. We remain supportive of the development of a new North/South interconnector and recognise that there is strong support in Northern Ireland and Ireland to see this happen.
