The Department for Transport has committed to revitalising Local Transport Plans to deliver the best local transport outcomes and as the main instrument for places to set out strategies and proposed projects that support decarbonisation.

To support effective local delivery, work is underway to develop new guidance on Local Transport Plans and later this year we will publish a Local Authority Toolkit, providing guidance to support local areas to deliver more sustainable transport measures.
